Hi, I’m Kay!

Agh! Where do I even begin? I’m Kay and I am excited to be continuing to journey behind Basic Home DIY, a place for approachable projects, creative ideas, and event planning for making home feel a little more like you.

My background is in events and hospitality, where I’ve spent years at. I’ve executed events across some of the most beautiful homes in the Midwest and know a thing or two about what it takes to make a home look beautiful and elevated. That exact work has taught me that some of the most memorable moments come from little details, and simplicity.

Here, you’ll still the same fun stuff- find DIY home projects, decorating inspiration, seasonal ideas, organization, etc. However, I am going to start introducing more ways to really amp up your home decor and gatherings especially when planning events like NYE, Halloween, Christmas, Valentines’ Day, etc.

I believe creating a home you love doesn’t have to mean a massive change, an unlimited budget, or getting everything perfect. Sometimes simplicity is much better and can look alot more elevated
